“Connected” and “imported” are different states in Mycopy. We will not pretend a file upload is continuous sync.

Recovery is the test
When access disappears, your copy stays useful.
A backup is not successful because files exist somewhere. Mycopy shows whether your history can be searched, checked, and exported without the original account.

Security & ownership

Least access
Gmail starts with read-only access. Disconnecting stops future access without silently deleting your preserved copy.
Evidence, not badges
Dates, counts, failures, checksums, and coverage explain what has actually been preserved.
An open exit
Versioned manifests and open email, JSON, and media formats make your export useful outside Mycopy.
Separate deletion
Disconnect source, delete this copy, and delete account are distinct actions with distinct consequences.
Mycopy does not claim zero-knowledge encryption: automatic backup and server-side browsing require controlled server-side decryption. Public claims will be limited to controls verified before launch.
